For our September outing we ventured to Columbus, Ohio for the Ohio State vs. CU football game. It had been raining all week, but the clouds broke and the sun came out just after kick off. It was a beautiful, fun day especially for those of us that are Buckeye fans. Final score....well what does it really matter. Tera, Kelly, and Barb did find some symphathic Buckeye fans that offered up their tailgate wares only to be entertained by Tera's stories. And in true Tera fashion, she ran into at least two people she knew. Apparently, Tera is pretty recognizable :-)
Our 40th Year
Born in 1971, graduated in 1989, turn 40 in 2011! Back in 1989, 40 seems SOOOOO old. Today, we still feel so young. Funny how one's perception changes over time. We have decided to embrace 40 and take some time this year to enjoy life, enjoy spending time together and maybe learn a thing or two along the way. Every month we will do something that is new to one or both of us. Besides getting used to saying 40, our biggest adventure this year will be Tri for the Cure in August. Our first triathalon at 40 seems a bit crazy but we're in! Wish us luck and remind us to train. Tera definitely has a leg up since she's been working out. Corrie hasn't worked out since....well perhaps before Carter was born :-0 Anyhow, if you are reading this we have invited you along with us on our journey. Hopefully you will be able to join us on and excursion or two. We will keep you posted on our year and thanks for following along.
Cheers
Corrie and Tera

Tri For the Cure
We did it! By far the most difficult of our 40 year adventures, the Tri for the Cure. I wrote this blog entry many times over in my head during my 12 mile bike ride and swore I would never do it again. Weeks later, I can't remember what I wanted to say and I am considering doing it again. I don't believe that Tera agrees with the later :-) It was a beautiful day and there was a sense of accomplishment when we finished. Tera started the day with a swim, I biked and we both walked/briefly ran. Our goal was to not finished last and we were successful. Considering neither one of us had done any training so to speak of, our 2 hour and 28 minute time was something we were proud of. Thanks to all who supported us in this endeavor!
We started the 5k jogging. That didn't last long!
There were 6 of us that participated. Shushawn, the impetuous for this endeavor is second from the left. Thanks Shoosh!

July Golfing
For our July event, we decided to take a golf lesson and golf 9 holes. It was Tera's first time ever to golf and she was great! It was Corrie's once a year golf outing and she was frustrated. Of course Hitch always says that it's tough to be good at something you only do once a year. Hopefully we can get back out on the course before we forget everything we learned!
P.S. No laughing at our form, remember we are beginners :-)

Birthday Party!!!
Our March event was celebrating both our 40th birthdays. This month is halfway between our birthdays so it seemed like as good a time as any. We had a fabulous party at the Sons Of Italy Hall with delicious food, fantastic music and wonderful friends and family. Almost 70 of us all together! Corrie was a dancing fool and the next morning was certainly reminded it was 2011, not 1989!

A Sweet Taste of Denver
Our February outing kept us much closer to home. We decided to take a "Sweet Tour of Denver" through the Denver Gourmet Tours. We spent the afternoon exploring some cool, locally owned shops in LoDo and the Platte River area. We both wished we had discovered these local shops before we moved so far into suburbia! Guess it's a good reason to visit downtown.

Viva Las Vegas!
January took us to Vegas for a girls only weekend. Yes, we've both been to Vegas, we've even been together, but it was our first "Girls Only" trip. Our friends Shushawn and Tina joined us on this outing. It was quite fun and our 40th year is off to a great start!
On the plane, headed to Vegas! This photo may very well end up on his blog as well.
Dinner, drinks and blues at B.B. Kings. Shushawn joins us in this photo.
And drinks before we head out. Tina is with us in this picture.
What the heck, we're celebrating right?
