Our 40th Year

Born in 1971, graduated in 1989, turn 40 in 2011! Back in 1989, 40 seems SOOOOO old. Today, we still feel so young. Funny how one's perception changes over time. We have decided to embrace 40 and take some time this year to enjoy life, enjoy spending time together and maybe learn a thing or two along the way. Every month we will do something that is new to one or both of us. Besides getting used to saying 40, our biggest adventure this year will be Tri for the Cure in August. Our first triathalon at 40 seems a bit crazy but we're in! Wish us luck and remind us to train. Tera definitely has a leg up since she's been working out. Corrie hasn't worked out since....well perhaps before Carter was born :-0 Anyhow, if you are reading this we have invited you along with us on our journey. Hopefully you will be able to join us on and excursion or two. We will keep you posted on our year and thanks for following along.
Cheers

A Morning at the Spa

We thought a little time at the spa was a great way to end our 40th year adventures. So we spent a lovely Saturday morning at the New Spirit spa in Denver. It was GREAT!!! Honestly, the best massages we've ever had anywhere! Thanks to everyone who joined us on our adventures this year, we appreciate your friendship! And thanks to our families for putting up with our outings this year, we appreciate your patience! It was a great year and here's to many more! Cheers!

Ready for some pampering

Think we need some relaxation :-)

A tranquil massage room....aaahhhh

A little detox with an Ionic Foot Bath

(my apologies in advance to my brother Mike and anyone else who hates feet as much as he does for these two pictures)

If you've never tried one, it's weird but kinda cool

A Dinner Out

In November we decided to go to a nice dinner somewhere new to both of us. We chose Fogo De Chao in downtown Denver. It was a restaurant for carnivores for sure! There was a great salad bar and then all the meat you could eat delivered right to your table. It was a very enjoyable meal and we left stuffed!

Of course with Tera and Corrie, no dinner is complete without a glass of wine or two or three...

The meat was delivered and cut right at the tableWe told them that we were out celebrating our 40th birthday, we just forgot to mention exactly when we had our birthdays
and so we got free desserts. Not one, but two!

Girls Night Out Fundraiser

October proved to be a busy month for us and unfortunately we did not get a chance to do a monthly activity. However, continuing in the tradition of growing, learning and enjoying 40, Corrie helped plan a fundraiser. Her friend Tanja at Contemporary Expressions Photography does an annual fundraiser for the Family Tree. Corrie loves to plan parties and offered to help. It was a lot of work, but a success. We raised $1200 for the Family Tree in one afternoon and had a great "Girls Night Out"!
